Yesterday\'s hot IPO, NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), is up again this morning. Shares of NetSuite have added another 20%, after gaining 36% In its debut. Interestingly, the stock was flat with its $26 pricing most of the day yesterday until the final two hours - when it surged. The stock is seeing carry-over momentum today.

NetSuite is a leading vendor of on-demand, integrated business management application suites for small and medium-sized businesses. It provides a comprehensive suite of enterprise resource planning, or ERP, customer relationship management, or CRM, and e-commerce capabilities that enables customers to manage their critical back-office, front-office and web operations in a single application.

Oracle\'s Larry Ellison is a majority-owner of NetSuite.

If you folks buy N premarket you had better consider that a longer term investment. Else you can get pretty hurt if traders consolidate the stock.

UPL was at $64 with a super clear buy signal.at $63/64...So F8 and I decided we'd wait for $63...and while waiting...UPL shot up to $72....
    go figure....
    zee
So, now F8 and I call that UPL'd
and now we are kind of thinking on DRYS we might get UPL'd again....

    troyhouse,

There are many reasons why i like N.
    1) I like CRM and thinks it's the next Oracle. But i now like N even more because it is mostly controlled by Larry Ellison.
    2) Never bet against Larry.
    3) This low floater (and high interest) can only go one way --> up.
    4) The market potential is huge huge huge. Both CRM and N has a combined total of 40,000 customers, when there are over 7 million businesses they can eventually tap into. On-demand software is a very new industry. Remember database software used to be 'new' but Larry Ellison turned the world upside down with Oracle Database.
    5) Did you know that Oracle produces some of the best business executives in the whole wide world? Siebel Systems, acquired by Oracle, was found by Siebel, a former Oracle executive. Salesforce is run by Marc Benioff, who was also a previous Oracle top guy. Netsuite is run by two former Oracle executives. If history is of any guide, Netsuite be very successful as well.

I like N and i like it alot. I think we are getting in near the bottom. Buy on all dips!

have you beta tested this option calculator?
    Is it accurate?
    zee
and the calculator still doesn't tell you
how to make a 90% return on LDK, even if you invest $10 too early....

    My attack method does...

That's why i posted it at beannies...

It's harder than your Einstein riddle, and yet someone at this blog is going to sit here all x-mas and figure it out,
because it’s that important to him and his family’s financial future.

How to play LDK is how i played CCJ
    CCJ 37.9 , jan40call =1.40 -(buy5), ----jan 37.5c = (0)
    CCJ 36.1 , jan 40 call = 0.75 (hold)--- jan 37.5c =1.45-(buy5),
    CCJ 35.3, jan 40 call =0.60(hold)----jan 37.5c= 1.15 (buy5)
    CCJ 35.3, the bleeeding stopped....yeah...!!!
    CCJ 38.0 , jan40 call = 1.40 (sold5)=0% gain
    CCJ 38.0, jan 37.5call= 2.50 (sold10)= 90% gain
  • zstock · 2 years ago
    SO LDK
    LDK 45.1 , jan55 call =3.20 (buy)---jan 50c=(0)
    LDK 41.8, jan55 call = (hold)-----jan 50 call =(buy)
    LDK 37.0, jan 55 call= (hold)----jan50 call = (hold)---jan45 call..(buy 2X)
Jesus, help me..!!!, if I have to buy the LDK..Jan 45 calls, cause i will be at MAX pain...but here’s the thing...NO PAIN, NO gain...(just have to pull the trigger, and close my eyes)

i have just updated my long term portfolio holdings at the Beanieville Group.
  • troyhouse · 2 years ago
Why are you so bullish for N; the reason I am asking is as people have already started talking about valuation concerns and as such...
  • beanieville · 2 years ago
It's what makes a market for both sides. They been saying GOOG was overvalued from day one.
  • lisa · 2 years ago
    Beanie,

How can I get into Beanieville group? I like to see your holdings.

    Thanks.
  • ski · 2 years ago

  • ski · 2 years ago
sorry, that question about updates was regarding this post.
  • zstock · 2 years ago
i’ll just float my short hand on DRYS JAN 85 calls and see if anybody gets it...

    DRYS jan 85 call 70 = 2.8, 78 = 6.5 = delta 30, every 5 days , under 85 , lose 20%, so next week ..DRYS at 70 jan 85 call = 2.25, at 78 = 5..2
  • zstock · 2 years ago
This assumes DRYS does not test $66...last low...in which case 78 = 3.20 maybe..
...the first resistance is 81.6 and then 86 = 100 day...
so i think it's safe to accumualte JAN 85 calls..for swing trades and sell DRYS gets to $81...

    EDUCATION STOCKS...UTI,APOL,STRA,EXBD,ESI,COCO,DV,CECO,
I kind of have to wait for APOL and STRA to make a move...
before I can bottom fish CECO,UTI, and EXBD,ESI

CECO has a clear taarget price of $29 short term and longer term 31 = 200 day...
    ESI . well It’s just a BUY now situation , anytime it’s under it’s 200 day = 108...
it’s impossible for ESI not to reach 108 again...
I keep hoping ESI will test 86 so I can buy the JAN 85 call for around $600..instead of $900..
so, i’m afraid i’ll have to put in a 50% now and if I can get $600 later, put in the other 50%...
    UTI....19=100 day 21 = 200 day .both targets are do-able..always....
UTI’s eps never changes...hmmm....but everyone still needs skilled airline mechanics or some such....
    Buying UTI 15 call 2.30...

VIX has a fairly strong buy signal..4 day falling knife...and it’s at the 200 day...market may take a breather on Monday = ( closed early at 1 pm...so I’m taking out a cheap PUT on DIA as a hedge =( hedge means small $ amount just in case)...
VIX calls too expensive...so next best hedge is DIA Q4 134 PUTS = 1.21...( HLKXD)...lets hope i lose money on this ,,,Monday...or as I like to say..Merger Monday...

  • zstock · 2 years ago
i'm only taking the numbers thomson provides to the general public and tweaking them to match the last known high and low, and then adding in the eps progress ( if any) to it's last high...
it's actually kind of simple, and some day, i will be hiring two or three people, and that's all they will do 16 hours a day....7 days a week...and if they don't like the pay and the pressure, they can quit...!!!...!!!

Those worried about MSFT VMWare competition... this summarizes perfectly:

From what I’ve seen, Microsoft’s Hyper-V is roughly analogous to VMware Server 1.0, although not as polished. It doesn’t appear to be a significant challenge to VMware’s Virtual Infrastructure and ESX Server products, and given the fact that VMware Server is free, runs on Linux and Windows, and is considerably more mature, it’s questionable how many infrastructures will benefit from using Hyper-V over VMware Server. Hyper-V is certainly behind the curve, but shows that Microsoft sees the need to be competitive in this space. Only time will tell whether Microsoft can catch up to the virtualization leaders, or be forced to settle for a secondary role.

N 37.24 PM, anyone buying now or waiting
  • beanieville · 2 years ago
    whoa fortune8, that's quite an accusation...lol

If you knew the truth of when i actually bought N, you wouldn't be saying that.

As mentioned yesterday, i was on mobile and someone mentioned N. I took a quick look and thought it has really good long term potential, and mentioned it as such. After i made the comment that whatever Larry Ellison touches turns to gold, i actually logged off as i was at the mall. I didn't buy N then, until later when i logged back on (which was pretty close to end of day. I mentioned it was a great long term investment, so it was fair game. If you believed me, you would have been watching it and would have bought when you saw the breakout. Fair game.

Not all stock recommendations i made do i actually own a position or trading it. I can only keep track of a universe of like 10 stocks and i usually focus on those. In fact, alot of the times i actually end up buying stocks usually later than the rest of you folks. I am not worried because i know where i stand as a daytrader and i know i can make up for the difference by daytrading the particular stock in question. Also, before i buy a stock i usually have a long term target in my mind; so being a few dollars late is ok with me as long as the target is still alot higher.

Most of my money is actually made trading one particular stock ---> FSLR. In fact, many of the stocks i recommend, i actually do not play it. Some of those i do, i may mention that i own a position.

    Hope that helps. :)
  • fortune8 · 2 years ago

no -ones gonna beleive this target price....but here goes despite all of you nay- sayers.....

    VAN G
Great numbers and article on GIGM, keep that stuff coming...( here’s what i know now, from your post......).GIGM has a 2008 growth value target price...of $27..
OK now I looked at the chart for the first time in my life
They gave GIGM a $25 high.(or a 40% premium) ..on 2007 outlook...so GIGM target price for 2008, has to be calculated with a 40% premium..
    neat trick...
So take my $27 growth value target price, and add the 40% premium and the 2008 target price is $38.7...
I guarentee you ..GIGM will hit $38.7 in 2008...just don’t know when...
    Zee
.....( you just have to see what the computer programmers are doing, and then reverse engineer the programmed stock price)..and voila,
I have wall street’s next move before they have it....that’s all i’m doing...
  • zstock · 2 years ago
ok ... well maybe I'm getting a little sci-fi on the computer programming stuff..
but the numbers I used, are probably very accurate...

    FIRED UP
Ellison believed businesses wanted to purchase all their software from one company. Years later he would spend nearly $20 billion in a buying spree to make Oracle that company for large outfits. Done right, NetSuite could be the same thing for small companies. Fink says he has never seen Ellison so engaged, so passionate about a company other than Oracle. Ellison checks his NetSuite dashboard daily to see how the company is doing and checks in with Goldberg and Nelson regularly. And he has never hesitated to write a check.

Why did the NetSuite offering take so long to jell? For one thing, it wasn't easy to get the business model right. There's a reason why very few large software companies sell to small businesses: They have to work just as hard to make a sale that is a magnitude smaller. To cut costs and turn what will be its first profit this quarter, NetSuite took such steps as basing its support center in the Philippines. Another factor in the delay was that Ellison was in no rush to sell. Nelson says that in his third year on the job, they were close to meeting with bankers, but Ellison told him to hold off. Instead he invested more money to double NetSuite's salesforce.

I am going to teach you how to fish instead of giving you fish.

What was the lowest price that DRYS bounced from and what did it run to?

Let's just say, DRYS hit that low, JAN75 would be valued at 4.31

Whether it willh it that low, I do not know.

This could be a falling knife. However, it has not made a new low and it is still above 200ema. If this stock closed below 97% of 200ema, then I would say get out, provided that it does not open above it the next day. If you want to limit the pain, then use the 200ema.

You definitely don't want to pull a UPL. If you don't know what I am referring to, then you can ask Z or visit his blog where I made the comment.

My money is in this with you. And I gave you the exact price that I purchased the stock and option. If you want screenshots, I do have them, but it is going to cost you.

Here is where you can sell your DRYS options on the run up based on 8 and 21 ema: 6.25,10.21, repectively.

if you hang on until 50ema, options will be 14.38.

My calculation is based on 14 days before expiration.

How many days do we have until we get there?

    Enjoy your holidays.

it could go lower Monday. But bought some @45.02. Good enough for longer term hold. Profit margin issue is overblown, increasing revenue and plant expansion will offset any loss in profit margin. I'll be buying more below 45. Currently holding over 600 shares @ 42. Good luck!

    Troy,

ok, hope this helps. Beanie let me know if you agree. When a stock is where N is currently, and i may have missed a good entry but I'm not sure, I will take a much smaller position.... The theory being is, obviously, I missed the boat, and if it continues up, I'l make sometihng....(something is better than nothing , good for yer confidence)..... if it goes down..... and is a quality stock..... cost average in.... and you'll usually really hammer it on the next rise and get most of the gain u missed the fiirst time around..... and actually the most successful traders don't hit homeruns all the time, but they're great at getting on base...
  • beanieville · 2 years ago
    Sounds good.

If i'm just not sure where the stock is headed, i usually wait out the first 30 minutes after open. Let the stock establish a range. Believe it or not, most frequently the first 30 minutes dictates the range throughout the day. The breakout of high or the breakdown of the low tells ya which direction it usually heads to at the close. Usually.

But Scott Sweet, senior managing partner of IPO Boutique, expressed concern that the company (Netsuite) may be getting overvalued. The stock's shaky start underscored his concerns, he said Thursday morning.
"Once again the Dutch auction concept failed to live up to its self-described mantra as being a better conduit in the pricing of an IPO by the investors than the standard method of pricing by the underwriters," Sweet said. "In past Dutch auction deals, and it appears the same in this case, investors put in overzealous high bids to 'beat' others in a scramble to get shares. In doing so, it is highly likely that it has greatly diminished the IPO's performance and highly overvalued the company."
He said the "early big winner" in the process is NetSuite, and the "losers" are investors who "are left questioning why they put in bids that were unrealistic."
NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson said his team saw the auction as a way to set a fair price.
"It's usually hard to argue with markets," he said Thursday after trading began. "So when the market speaks we listen to it. It was a market-driven process, a very democratic process."
Analysts say NetSuite's IPO highlights the rapidly growing on-demand software market, made popular by Salesforce.com (CRM).
The company's debut also attracted much attention because its biggest investor had been Oracle Corp. (ORCL)

explain me on this option here..newbie to options...trying some ppaer trading...

if you bu ythis option DQRAO for jan08..whathappens if it hits $75 or more or less than $75..

can you give me an example?

    -Su
  • Jason · 2 years ago
I bought the Jan $75. Stock currently sits at $72 and change. As long as the stock price is higher than $75 by January options expiration, the option is worth something. If the pps is less than $75 then they are worthless.

My hope is that DRYS goes somewhere around $80 by the end of next week and I can sell then.

The further you buy out, the more time you have to hold the option but the more expensive they are. If you are expecting a quick move in a stock, best bang for your buck to by closer to the current month, but if you are wrong the risk is much more.

Just started a small position in DRYS. Bought the Jan 75 calls. I thought that DRYS would try to test its 200 day EMA, but all the charts of the dry bulk companies are bullish and next week should be a good week. I think DRYS can hit $78-80 next week.

I missed the N gravy train and I have a hard time getting myself to buy some because I got burned by STV. Got into STV too late and I seemingly bought at the high. Nervous about it happening again with N. I'll see if there is a sell off in N by EOD. IF there is I may dabble a little.

Good morning guys. Here's my comments for today. As you might know I am from Europe and today I have a lunch so I cannot give you my advice.

Basically as regard to the N post, I like it, but I would not play such an IPO, it can get like BIDU, can be very nasty. Basically its a roller coaster ride, but if you are happy with it, I would go long and make a $3-5 stop.

As regards to CSIQ I still own quite a position in 25 puts, that expire this evening. I have made a sell order at $3. Ambitious target, i.e. it will fall to $22. I will be able to monitor the market at 11am your time, and if i have a good profit I will take it. It is destined to fall.

As for RIMM, it is incredibly a well marketed stock. The stock will most probably gap up at the open and lose all its gain by the end of the day. They did not guide up, they lightened subscriber base. I mean, I cannot understand it, they issued a "worse" report than CROX and still they managed to make it go up. Even LDK issued a good report and got hammered... They simply want to instil a +ve attitude in it, so that they can distribute more stock.
