Wouldn't it be prudent to wait for the inevitable relief rally/market squeeze before shorting heavily shorted stocks - unless you're of the belief the market will continue to go straight down? I mean it just seems like everyone and their grandmother is short the market. Perhaps the time for these folks to learn a lesson is near.

You can't blame them, every rally is nothing but short covering ralated...name me one fundamental that support market rally other than short covering? Until housing stablize, the market is still going down...trend is your friend no matter how you dislike it.

i don't think it's a good idea to short today...because the market is extremely short term oversold right now.
