Many investors are still positioned long in stocks. In bear markets while selling can have tax implications why not actively write deep in the money cover calls to off set and decline in stocks ? This way your portfolio value is protected, you still qualify for dividends and you dont have any tax implications.

While short selling is an idea, an acquisition or some major news could cause a pop and put you in a disadvantaged position. as for the calls, you have the option of buying it back with the loss being off set by the rise in the stock price. Give this some thought b4 panic selling !

Re: Fade the gaps & Manage your portfolio

I don't have your newsletter ,
so I have a hard time understanding your Blog---
but I do read Micheal D---
zee

Re: Fade the gaps & Manage your portfolio

Hello all. Z, I thought you were taking my advice on JASO? Watch for the gap down in the AM across the board. If we don't gap we'll drop off real quick before making an attempt at more resistance levels. Z, sorry for any "misunderstanding" at my site, you are welcome there anytime. Later guys.

Re: Fade the gaps & Manage your portfolio

wow look at google bounce. lol apt 490call doable now?

Re: Fade the gaps & Manage your portfolio

lol

Re: Fade the gaps & Manage your portfolio

Now tell me if LDK is not manipulated or not, check out Yahoo finance for LDK and WSJ is publishing all the old news of Oct 2007 as the new news.
